How long does a Home Assistant installation take?
A basic installation typically takes 2β4 hours. A full setup with many devices, automations, and a custom dashboard can take 1β2 days. We always agree on the scope and timeline in advance.
Do I need to buy new devices, or can you integrate existing ones?
We always look at what you already have first. Many devices β Philips Hue, IKEA TRΓ DFRI, Shelly, TP-Link Kasa, and dozens more β are fully compatible with Home Assistant. We only recommend new hardware where it's genuinely needed.
Does the smart home work without internet?
Yes β and that's one of the key advantages of Home Assistant over commercial cloud-based solutions. The entire system runs locally on your server. Lighting, heating, cameras β everything works even during an internet outage. Internet is only needed for remote access from outside.
What is RAID and why do I need it on a NAS?
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) spreads or mirrors data across multiple drives. For example, RAID 1 keeps an identical copy on two drives β if one fails, your data is safe. It protects against hardware failure, but it's not a substitute for proper backups.
How long does it take to build a PC?
After agreeing on components and ordering them, the actual assembly, testing, and configuration typically takes 2β5 business days. For urgent cases, we can discuss a faster turnaround.
Do you provide warranty on assembled PCs?
Yes. We provide a 12-month warranty on our work (assembly and configuration). Components carry manufacturer warranties, usually 2β3 years. If something goes wrong, we treat it as a priority.
Where do you operate? Do you travel outside your home city?
We're based in BanskΓ‘ Bystrica but work with clients across Slovakia. Travel outside BB is charged based on distance. In many cases, part of the work can be done remotely. Contact us β we'll figure it out.
How does remote support work?
We use tools like Remotely or SSH for server systems. Most issues can be resolved remotely within minutes. A physical visit is only needed for hardware repairs or larger installations.
How much does a consultation cost?
The first consultation is always free β whether in person, by phone, or video call. We're happy to discuss your needs and suggest an optimal solution before you commit to anything.
Do you issue invoices with VAT?
Yes, we are VAT-registered and issue proper invoices. Prices on the website are always shown excl. VAT β VAT (20%) is added to the final price.
